Rob Long - August 18th, 2021
Congratulations to our Rising Stars.
Congratulations on being named a p1440 2021 Rising Star. This past year has been a crazy one and we could not be more proud of the time and effort you've put in this past season. Your commitment, talent and devotion have set you apart. These selections were based on the collective consensus of p1440 affiliate directors and coaches.
2021 p1440 First Team Rising Stars
TVT | Florida State University
Kaileigh is the proverbial beach rat. I don’t think there is ever a time this player does not have beach volleyball on her mind.
Match that type of passion with talent and skill and you quite simply have a Champion!
A5 | LSU
Skylar is the best defender in any juniors division on the beach right now at 15 years old. She probably was the best defender on the beach at 14 years old. Skylar has the discipline and patience that all the world class defenders seem to innately have. When you put that together with her strength, speed and ball control...
Well, you have the best defender on the beach!
C3 | USC
Ashley has the confidence, vision and consistency of a super star! Ashley has the “IT factor”. She can perform every beach volleyball function at a high level of intentional execution that in most cases cannot be matched by opponents not only in her juniors age group but any age group.
C3 | USC
Passion, intensity, desire, skill and athleticism...Jordan has it all. This young lady is so fun to watch, big serves, hits and digs are common on her court and with a voice to match, it is hard to take your eyes off any of her games.
Apex, North Carolina
Sally in the proverbial Freak on the beach. An athletic 6’2 at 14 years old, she also has great hands and good feet. It is not fair, and most of her opponents feel the same way.
Most junior athletes just cannot match this young lady at the net, and she is a future Super Star should she choose the beach game on the next level.
Avery has dominated the beach game in every division she has played in, and as she grows in years she will not stop. She is one of the best athletes in the sand and pairs that with the passion to focus on the sand game. She will be another Texas beach star over the next few years without a doubt.
Ohio Valley Beach/Next Level
Myriah won the USA National Beach Championships at 12u and that sparked a love for the beach game that has been burning since. Rye is one of those athletes you watch and everything just looks too easy for them. She has one of the highest ceilings out there in the juniors landscape.
The sky is the limit for this player.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
PUR Beach | University of Arizona
Stephanie hails from Puerto Rico and has logged quite a few flight miles in her young career. She is one of the best in the juniors world at attacking on two. Her ability to see the court and quickly make good decisions makes her a very hard person to game plan against.
It's always going to be hard to get sideout points when Stephanie is on the other side of the net.
2021 p1440 Second Team Rising Stars
Poetry | Texas
Madison is an incredible physical player for her age. At 6’2, Madison has all the physical gifts needed to be great at the net and a pair of setting hands to go with it.
As she turns the corner on her ball control, I am not sure this kid can be stopped.
TVT Beach | TCU
Jordyn is a legacy talent following her sister who was one of the top juniors players in the country. Jordyn has certainly carved out her own space among the top all around players in the juniors world and always executes her beach skills with precision and consistency.
That is a dangerous combination in the beach game.
Coming out of a small beach world in Chelan, Washington, Olivia is beginning to spread her wings and compete around the country... and she is making quite an impact. Olivia has all the physical skills to be next level on the beach for sure.
Look for her name in the first place spot a lot in the future.
P4:13 | USC
Zoey Mitchell is a crazy physical, passionate, hard working athlete that desires to be great. Zoey’s offensive power, a block to contend with, great hands and a grinders mentality on defense at nearly 6 feet tall is going to be a problem for opponents in 2022.
Sarah Forbes Hall
Greenville, North Carolina
Don't tell Forbes Hall she is 5’6 because she plays like a much bigger athlete. Forbes is a speedy all out defender that loves to dig balls and terminate with power. Forbes also has the will to grind it out and does not crack! She is going to be formidable in 2022.
Nicole De Olivera
Cary, North Carolina
Bacana Beach | FGCU
Nicole plays the beach game at 110 miles per hour with complete effort on every play. This young lady has an arm swing that collects opponents’ faces when she swings, and she swings a lot. Nicole also digs power swings with incredible control as a defender which creates an abundance of point opportunities.
No one likes to see Nicole on their side of the bracket.
Mendham, New Jersey
Sinjin Beach | TCU
Sarah is an incredibly high IQ player for her age, she just understands the game which always gives her a leg up on most of her opponents. Sarah does not give away points easily and because of her heady defensive skills turns points well.
This formula always has her competing to win most events.
Tanon holds herself to a high standard of play and always wants to keep working until she meets those goals. She is coachable, a great teammate, and just loves to compete.
She has a veteran style of play already, and this is only the beginning for her career!
Adriana Nieves, Katie Camp, Kelly McConekey, Kelsey Richards, Kaylee Young, Carys Patton, Karynn Garrow, Sara Wood, Maddie Wood, Olivia Le Blanc, Faith Young, Sydney Majick, Shayna Wolfe, Sloane Woolwine, Kennedy Coakley, Isabel Day, Hailey Carpenter, Mia Scanlon, Lennox Langham, Lucy Sutherland, MaryClaire Oswald, Elizabeth Sampson
