FAQs
What is the p1440 Futures Tour?
How do I qualify for your 5 p1400 Futures Tour events?
You first need to become a p1440 member by signing up HERE. Then you need to register for p1440 affiliate points events and the p1440 Futures Tour events HERE. Play in as many p1440 events as you want and accrue points for improved seeding at each Futures Tour event. The more points you have, the better your seed will be.
What is the Futures Tour event calendar?
What is the fee for the p1440 Futures Tour events?
The entry fee for each p1440 Futures Tour event will be $200/team for 16/18u and $100 for 14u and all entrants must have an active p1440 membership.
What is the event format for the p1440 Futures Tour Series ?
Day One- Pool 1 - Modified pool play seeded on p1440 points. 1x4 and 2x3 play. Winners play winners and losers play losers.
Day One- Pool 2 - Modified power pool play. All # 1 seeds from pool one/#2 seeds/#3 seeds and #4 seeds are repooled with the same 1x4 and 2x3 format.
Day Two- Bracket play, all teams make the gold division for the 1st round match of bracket play and are seeded by performance from day one pools.
The teams that all placed 1st in the morning pool plays would move on in the 1’s power pools. Say there are 12 teams that placed 1st in the morning pools. Those 12 teams would now make up the top 12 seeded teams in the tournament and play their power pools for reseeding within that group of 12 teams. All the teams that placed 2nd in the morning pools would move on into their power pools to play for seeds 13 to 24 overall. The 3rd place teams would be playing for seeds 25 to 36 and the 4th place finishers in the morning pools would be playing in their power pools for seeds 37 to 48.
You can move your seed from 1 to 3 seeds within your 4 team power pool. But can not go higher than the highest seed in your power pool or drop lower than the lowest seed in your power pool when breaking out into Tournament 1st round bracket play.
Everyone plays the first round tournament bracket seeded by their power pool performance.First round bracket winners move on in gold match play - Championship bracket and losers go to the silver - contenders bracket.
Every team has every chance to earn their finish by tournament’s end. It is very much a performance-based format. Seeding helps initially which is very helpful and then after that it is 100% performance based.
Where can I find information about the points system?
The points systems for p1440 Juniors events are located HERE.
Who is eligible to play in p1440 Futures Tour events?
GIRLS 14u, 16u & 18u divisions are eligible to play in Futures Tour events. If you’re a stud 14u or 16u team and want to contend in a higher age division, you are more than welcome to play up.
Where can I find your local and regional p1440 & p1440 affiliate tournaments?
p1440 currently has affiliate-run tournaments in 30 states across the USA. If there are no events in your region, reach out to us at info@p1440.com so that we can point you to the closest playing opportunity. Please visit our p1440 registration portal to view all points, bid and Futures Tour events nationwide.
What if I’m not part of a club or from outside the USA... can I still register for your events?
Of course! You simply need to find a partner, register for an annual p1440 membership and then register for the events you want to play in HERE. If you are from outside the USA, please reach out to us at info@p1440.com and request an “at-large bid” to play in a Futures Tour event.
Do I need the same partner for every p1440 event?
No. The prize race is an individual race so you can comfortably have flexibility with your playing partner.
Can I play up a division?
Yes, but you cannot participate in 2 age divisions in the same event.
What will the tournament seeding be based off of?
p1440 Bid events are single point events, Triple Crown events are 1.5 point events and the 6 Futures Tour events are double point events so we encourage you to add these events to your calendar where it makes sense. The more points you have, the better seeding position you will earn at all our events.
How will prize money be awarded?
The prize money will be awarded at our p1440 Junior National Championship in July 2023.
Are all age divisions eligible to win prize money?
Currently only 16u and 18u girls divisions are eligible for the prize race.
Will taking this prize money negatively affect my collegiate eligibility?
No. Students and athletes are able to take financial support in the form of prizes. This will not affect your eligibility or standing.
How many junior girls teams will be allowed at p1440 Futures Tour events?
We will allow between 65 to 250 teams depending on the site footprint and capacity.
Are there any other prizes awarded at the Futures Tour events besides the prize money?
Medals and prizes will be awarded at each event for the top 3 places and of course points for the prize points pool. The points pool will award the top 30 points earners at the completion of the 6 p1440 Futures Tour at the p1440 National Championship event in July 2023.
